Upmo Retail empowers students to develop their confidence and employability.

Upmo provides support and opportunity to adults with learning disabilities and autism. In Upmo Retail students who aim to enter the workplace learn skills to enter the retail sector. They are involved in the process of designing, making, packaging and selling a range of handmade products.

Students get a chance to attend popular arts and crafts markets, community festivals and social enterprise events in Edinburgh and the Lothians. They also help run regular pop-up shops held next to the workshop space in St Margarets House. This gives them a chance to practice their customer service skills, numeracy, inventory management and an overall experience of a retail environment.

The skills learned by our students will prepare them to live more independently and to have more choice in how they live their lives in the future.
